Antique Opera Binoculars

My antique is a pair of Opera binoculars; they belonged to my great great grandfather.

His name is Lois Philippe de Varennes; he was born in the year 1870. He got married on July 11 in 1905; he was 35 years old. After he got married he stade together with his wife for 20 years

then he died. Lois P. died at the age of 55 in the year of 1925.

The binoculars are about 150 years old. I think that I am the 4th generation to get the binoculars, and those are also the 4th generation made, and that's my antique!

Antique Piano

My antique artifact is the "Blasius Piano".It is about 132 years old. It was first given to my great, great grand-mother and was passed from generation to generation. My piano was first used in a strengthening bar.It is a double repetition piano, that means the sounds are reapeated twice. The piano was made in Philadelphia, USA.

Field trip to National Assembly and Martello Towers

Last week we went to the parliament we also went to a British hide out .It was really fun we learned alot of things.Like how the tower was made and how to reload an old gun and cannon. We also learned that there was a wall that was 3 meters thick and the other side it was 1 meter thick. then we had lunch; we ate in a room that the teachers rented. It was too cold outside. After lunch we walked to the parliament; it was very fun and there was alot of security. We had to pass through a metal detector. Then we went into the red room and the blue room. Then we had a chance to look at the statues They were really cool. then the bus arrived and took us to the school. then we went home.

Terry Fox

On Sep.21 morning we did the Terry Fox run. At first most people thought that Terry was just a man that ran for no reason. But these people were very wrong. They found out that Terry fox was not only a runner, He was a hero to most people all over canada. We found that out because miss made us watch a movie. So we should care and reaspect what Terry did.

First day of school!

After a long and peaceful summer similar to every year we kids had to go back to school and meet our grade six teacher. We got Ms. Brenda and are very happy we had a 3 day week which was pretty tiring if you ask me. We met our french teacher Ms. Lucie and Jennifer a new student transfering from St. foy elementary. We revised and learned the rules for the hallway, classroom, bathroom and cafeteria and we read too. That was our day.
