Antique hooks

My antiques that I will talk about are hooks. These hooks were first given to my grand-father when he was about 5 years old and then to my dad. Today my dad has them downstairs in are basement and does not use them, but when my dad was 5 years old he used to have five, 1 for each member of his family. These hooks are about 70 years old. I calculated the year it was made and it was made in around 1940. One hook weighs 6.30 grams. It's length is 9 cm and it's width is 6 cm. They are all rusty and kind of brown. They are made of iron and there is one that is broken in the back and I can see the inside of it, it's quite cool. It's orange and has holes, can see two holes. I think it's broken because of the screws that went in and out. So these are my two antiques!

The Oulou

My object is a Oulou,

my class and i was all showing our objects and telling what it was to be used for.

mine was to be used too cut the meat; my great grand-father lived in Nunavut. He lived in a Igloo and had no food so he made tools to go and hunt for food; the food was animals well their only food they can eat. he eats all of those(whales, fish, caribou, seals and etc..). They weren't vegetarian as you can see.

The three steps

(1) you have to go and hunt food

(2) you finally take the OuLoU and cut off the fur

(3) you eat

what you can eat?

i am going to tell what you eat in a caribou,

first of all you can eat the meat and the most interesting thing is that you can eat inside the bone.

why? well inside the bone there is this kind of pink meat, you have to eat it with soya sauce or it wont taste good. Ok now i am going tell what you can eat in the fish.

you can eat the eyes, meat and some people eats the tail and i am not sure but also the head.(discusting ehh!). Now about the whale.

some people makes house out of the bones and igloo's. as you know the whale is very big so thats means that there is a lot of meat but it is very hard to get one by hunting.(its big and heavy and you cant put on your boat it will sink. so the inuit decided not to take the whole thing so take peice of it each day/time.

old canadiens shirt

This is an old canadiens shirt. It is 20 years old. I think it was made in about 1980. My brother was the first one to have this shirt then then it was my other brother and then it was me. I used it when I started to learn how to skate. It was used to keep me warm but I would still put a coat under. The Canadiens still use the same logo as the one on my shirt. The logo was created in 1917 by Tex Rickard owner of the madison sqaure garden.
In our class, every person presented a antique object. We called it our antique road show. I presented money, five bills. This ia a picture of the money I brought. There are four bills, a 1 dollard, a two dollard, a five dollard and a ten dollard. that are made in 1967. And the other one is a one dollard and it is made in Ottawa Jan.2nd in 1937. Those bills are the first bills that are made in english and in french. After I presented two coins. They are olympic coins, one is a 5 dollard and the other one is a 10 dollard. On these coins the Olympic logo is different from now.The five dollard coin is silver and the ten dollard coin is gold. The 10 dollard coin weights 750 grains. It is twise as heavy as the 5 dollard, it weights 375 grains. Behind the coins, Queen Elizabeth is on it. On both coins, there is XXl witten on them, it meens 21st olympic games. Before, they said olypiad instead of olympic. These coins are 37 years old.

This antique is a old wash board. It is about 105 years old. It was first at my great grabdmother and was pass by genaration and genaration to my mother. My object is made out of wood and glass. It was made by a Canadien Woodwear. It can by still use but I think it will break easily because it is old.
This is how this wash board works:
1. You put your close in hot water.
2. You rub your close on the glass.
3. When the stain is gone you put it again in hot water and it is finish.
I think now it is really more technology. Now you put in the machine for 30 minutes and it is done, in the old time you needed to do it by yourself. Now it polutes alot more.
