The Lord of rain and night and his Wargals are back. He built a bridge over the fissure and the only ones that can stop him are Will, the apprentice ranger, Horace, the apprentice knight, and Evanlyn.
This book has lots of well described characters which I can easily imagine. Will, the main character is described as small and skinny while Horace is tall and strong. I like the fact that there is a little part of a chapter written when I opened the book which stopped at the most suspenseful moment, making me wonder what they meant.
One of my favourite and funniest parts is when Halt and Alyss decide to throw the Baron of Cobram Keep out of the top of the towers window and he landed in the moat. I also found the end good because it says that Halt was muttering a silent promise only he could here. It doesn’t say what the promise is so I had to guess what it is which isn’t hard to do but it is effective. The rangers (Will and Halt) make me think of me a little, because I am not very tall. In the book, It says that people imagine Halt to be 7 feet tall but he is very small. Overall, I would give this book two thumbs up.
