Class 6B's Halloween Party!!!

We had a lot of fun! During the few weeks we had a Halloween commitee which means that people who organizes parties to have, even more fun. This year we had a lot of people who wanted to be the people who worked for the Halloween commitee! So our teacher decided that this year's Halloween commitee would be: Elizabeth,Malorie,Karl-Antoine and Charles-Alexandre! Karl and Charles invented a game that was pretty cool it was with a balloon and you had to do a relay race holding the balloon by the knees in teams of two. Malorie and Elizabeth did the same but you had to hold the balloon without the hands touching and to cross the whole floor, and when you came back you had to find another way to hold it. It was very creative of them. After we played another relay race but it was with a spatula and a tennis ball and you had to do the same thing you had to run without the ball falling on the floor or else you had to restart. The first game that we played was a dance competition it was fun but Julien's team won. They had 9.5, us the girls we got 9.5 but less one because it was complicated at the beginning. After that we had free time!! That is where we got candies(A lot) And at the end of the day we cleaned up because it's our duty to do it. So to put that in one sentence it was fun ( Awesome, Fabulous, Amazing,Extravagant) Thank you Miss Beatty, and the Halloween Commitee to have given us a wonderful time.

World Record Science Experiment

I hope you all liked doing the science expirements about the Bernoulli principle. The funniest part was when we splashed each other in the face with water. My experiment with the baloons didn't work because there was too much static with the baloons so they stuck on us. My favorite experiment was the one with the glass of water and the straws. The one with the water was my favorite because when we blew on the straw the water came out like a spray.

Recycling

This year, the students in 6B are recycling the containers that students bring in their lunches. What we accept for recycling are cans (V8 etc.), juice boxes, glass containers and plastics that have a recycling sign and a number. The number 6 + plastic bags cannot be recycled in Quebec City. Every day teams rinse and sort the containers. This year, we will also offer services such as dead batteries collection and a used book sale. You may drop off any used books (French and English), that are in good condition, at the office.

Bois de Coulonge

On October 3rd, our class (6B) went to the Bois de Coulonge.  We learned all about trees including how to identify the species, the age, diseases and insects that harm them, and what different trees produce for us.  We also learned how the park belonged to different people in the past, and how the land had various uses.  Did you know that Samuel Holland once owned half of the park, and that a Lieutenant Governor died there? After the walk, we had a delicious snack of chocolate cookies and had time to play football, soccer, tag, fish and cowboy.  We brought back samples to do fun experiments. Before the trip, we did tree projects, research about the forestry industry, and some experiments, but we still wanted to learn more about trees. It was fun and educational.

last week

Last week we worked on math a little bit. We did a science expirement that miss B had never done  before with students. The experiment was for chlorophyl. We went outside.  We took a leaf from any kind of  tree and 1 big rock and few little rocks. In class we took the leaf and put it in the pot all scrambled. After we took the rock and pulverized it again. After we put alcohol in it and 1 minute later we put a filter in it. We watched the colors go up the filter.  Leave have different colors in them. In math we worked on functions.
