Baby Island

Do you know the story of Robinson Crusoe??? Do you remember hearing that he survived on an island…? After all, this story is based on this topic: Surviving on an island…

Did you ever think it would be possible for 2 girls to survive on a dessert island, carrying 4 babies, after a shipwreck? Well this is possible in the story. You will meet a 12 year old girl, named Mary, and you’ll discover that she has a heart of mom. A girl who would do anything to save her relatives. Also there is the sweet poetic Jean…When I say poetic, it’s because in the text of the book Jean writes poems on how she is feeling, and remember she is 10 years old. As the girls’ adventure continues they meet several obstacles. Obstacles like: Baby cries… What to do? No place to sleep… How are we gonna built a home... and many more.

You know, Robinson Crusoe was very brave and he did something very special, he wrote the number days he had stayed on the island, by doing marks on the tree’s bark. But Jean and Mary had their own calendar with them, so they would have their own schedule like on Fridays, do this and that… The girls where as brave and courageous as Crusoe… But now look in the sky… Do you see someone surviving on an island now, in these days??? It would be so possible, with all the technologies we have now. But if there would be no technology what would the people do to survive??? Would they send messages in a bottle so they could be found, like Jean did??? Or would they make a raft or dive to the water bank of any place in world??? Probably not, but it could be an idea.

Personally I can’t rate this book because every time a read it I give it a different rate… Ex: At 9 years old I rated it: 7.5, on my 10th year I rated it: 8.5 and now I really don’t know… It’s hard to rate it because… In fact it’s my genre of book, but maybe, after all I would rate it 9.7, because of the adventure and suspense of the book.

Everyone can change. Everyone! Mr. Peterkin is a man who settled on the Baby Island after living everything behind him, family, friends, and also children. When he meets the 6 children on “his” island well he doesn’t like it. He says the he moved because he wanted to escape from the kids of the village… I find that awful… After all, this man changes. The reason is, because of the little Elizabeth. She would always compliment on how pretty his beard was and that so cute…Now it wouldn’t be possible to do this. It would cost a lot to live on an island of their own. Million heirs could afford it but not an old man, escaping children. I know a couple that could afford it… Carlisle and Esmée. They are the parents of the “good” vampires in Twilight. In the 4th book of the serie they lend their island to Edward and Bella, for their honeymoon.

If ever you find a book that is alike… You’ll have to link it to Baby Island because it would be fantastic if this book could become popular again like it did in the past years…
